How to make aceto-carmine
- Add 2.5 g of carmine (Carmine "CertistainR", Merck) into 250 ml of 45% acetic acid in a 500 ml Erlenmeyer flask.
- Assemble a cooling tower on the flask as shown below.
- Keep boiling for 48 hours.
- After cooling down, filtrate through a filter paper.
- Store in a refrigerator. (Older is better)
